The Complete Guide to Fonts in Squarespace (and Searchable Directory)

If you’ve ever tried to find the perfect font in Squarespace, you know how frustrating the built-in font picker can be. The preview window is tiny, the scroll is endless, and most of the options are hidden.

That’s why I built a Squarespace Font Directory! It’s a free, searchable, filterable list of every font actually available in Squarespace. It includes Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, and system fonts, so you can design faster and smarter.

You can also grab the free font guide I put together. It’s got pairing ideas, CSS typography tweaks, and more. (Scroll down to download)

How the Squarespace Font Picker Falls Short

Squarespace’s native font interface initially only shows a fraction of what’s actually available. You get a small preview window, a short scroll, and a handful of select fonts in default categories: Serif, Sans Serif, Display, Script, Mono. The lists end quickly, and the full inventory is buried in an endless scroll in a tiny window. Turns out Squarespace can load over 4,000 fonts. That includes more than 1,500 Google Fonts and a bigger pile of Adobe Fonts.

Behind the scenes, Squarespace loads over 4,000 fonts. And some fonts have disappeared as licensing agreements change or expire.

Meet the Squarespace Font Directory

The Squarespace Font Directory solves this problem by laying everything out clearly. You can:

  • Filter by category (Serif, Sans Serif, Display, etc.)

  • Filter by source (Google, Adobe, or system fonts)

  • Check Canva availability

  • Search instantly by font name

Designers can finally match fonts across brand platforms like Canva, Google Fonts, and Adobe Creative Cloud without endless scrolling or guesswork.

Bonus: The Ultimate Squarespace Font Guide

To go with the directory, I created The Ultimate Squarespace Font Guide.

Inside, you’ll find:

  • My favorite font pairing suggestions

  • CSS snippets for more beautiful typography

  • And more!

You can download the guide directly from the directory page.

Feedback, Tips, and Future Updates

If the tool’s helpful, feel free to leave a tip. If something breaks or a font goes missing, there’s a feedback link on the directory page. It’s a live resource. As Squarespace continues to swap out fonts behind the scenes, I’ll try to keep it current.

Try it out. Share it. And bookmark it for the next time you’re staring at that nine-font-high preview window. 😜
