CHALLENGE

TEAM Tuscarawas (the Training and Education Alliance for Manufacturing) is an employer-led alliance in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, endorsed by the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association. It serves students, job seekers, and parents on one side, educators and manufacturers on the other, and each group arrives with different questions. The old presence gave none of them a clear front door.

I won the work through a public RFP in February 2026 with a firm June launch. The brief called for audience hubs, resource centers, a calendar, a blog, and an accessibility pass, with the EDC team supplying content as it came together.

SOLUTION

The structure does the heavy lifting. Core nav stays small (Home, About, Contact), and three hubs give each audience its own entrance: Job Seekers + Students, Education Hub, and Manufacturing Hub, each with its own calendar so a hub can post events the others don’t need. A resource directory, FAQ, events, and News & Media round it out. The contact form asks what you need help with and routes accordingly, so a staffing manager and a high school student don’t land in the same inbox pile.

Mobile-first layouts, readable type, plain-language labels, reusable sections, and a recorded handoff so the EDC’s interns could run events and news from day one. When a reviewer asked for a machine-readable copy of the site’s content, I added an llms.txt the same afternoon.

RESULTS

Launched on schedule in late May 2026, ahead of the June deadline. The contact form now brings in staffing managers, students, and career-center partners asking how to get involved, and the team runs the calendars and news themselves.

A few months after launch, TEAM Tuscarawas received the 2026 OEDA Excellence in Workforce Development Award. The site is where that news lives now, next to the hubs built to make it real.
