Web Design for Maryland Businesses, from a Maryland Native
I’m Vic King, a Squarespace web designer born and raised in Maryland. I build websites for Maryland businesses, nonprofits, and churches that look sharp, load fast, and turn visitors into calls, bookings, and sales. I live in Florida now, but I’ve never stopped working in the state that raised me.
Maryland is home, wherever I sleep
I was born on the Eastern Shore and spent fifteen years living and working in Baltimore. Every one of my daughters was born there. My whole family still lives on Delmarva, and we spend at least a month there every year. So when a client in Towson or Salisbury or Frederick tells me what their customers are like, I don’t need a briefing. I grew up with those customers.
That matters more than it sounds. A website is a conversation with a stranger, and the designer who knows the stranger wins.

What a Maryland business needs from its website
Maryland is a state of neighbors. Most of your customers are within twenty miles, and most of them will Google you before they call. Your site has three jobs: prove you’re real, prove you’re good, and make the next step obvious. I build for those three jobs first, and I build on Squarespace so you can update the site yourself without paying me to change a phone number.
Local search is the quiet engine here. I set up your Google Business Profile, your service-area pages, and the on-page signals that tell Google you belong in Anne Arundel County and not Anaheim.
How it works
Free call. Thirty minutes. You tell me what’s broken, I tell you what I’d do.
Proposal. Plain scope, plain price, four equal payments.
Build. Most sites launch in four to eight weeks. Clean content from you speeds it up.
Launch and support. You own the site. I’m a text away if you want a support plan.

Questions Maryland businesses ask me
-
Yes, when I’m up. I’m in Maryland for weeks at a time, several times a year. The rest of the time we meet on video, which is how most of my Maryland clients prefer it anyway.
-
Because you’ll actually be able to run it. No plugin updates, no hosting bills, no security patches. For most Maryland small businesses it does everything you need at a fraction of the upkeep.
-
Yes. Google Business Profile setup, location pages, metadata, and the content structure Google rewards. I’ll also tell you plainly what SEO can’t do.
