CHALLENGE
Sandy Pony Donuts is beloved at the beach, with multiple locations and a strong social presence, but the website felt dated and incomplete, creating a chasm between the in-person experience and the online one.
They also had no ability to sell merch online… a missed opportunity that was becoming urgent, as they were about to appear on an Apple TV show by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan.
Solution
We built a new the site around a bright, consistent style and voice that matches their brand personality. The foregrounds the delicious cuteness of hot, made-to-order donuts, while keeping key information like hours, addresses, and FAQs easy to find.
Location pages, catering info, and the menu all highlight what guests really care about: fresh donuts and how to get ‘em.
We created a donut catering calculator that feeds into a catering form, making it easier than ever for folks to get an instant quote and request a large order.
We built out a merch shop and, just for fun, a lick-the-donuts game inspired by the aforementioned show.
Results
The refreshed copy turns the site into a true extension of the in-person experience. Visitors can quickly find their closest location, understand what is on the menu, and place an online or catering order.
By combining clear details with a vivid brand voice, the site now captures both the fun and the practicality of planning a donut run or catering order.
And by the end of their first week post-launch, they’d already sold thousands of dollars of merch.
